Fulfills General Education Life Sciences requirement. Covers basic anatomy and physiology of humans for pre-health science majors. Focuses on the general structure and function of the human body including tissues, organs, and systems. Through lecture, videos, models, quizzes, and tests, students become familiar with how the human body functions. Explain the process and methods of science, including asking testable questions, using inductive and deductive reasoning in forming hypotheses and in making reliable predictions. 2. Explain and apply major concepts of life organisms including: the chemistry of life, the cell, the genetic basis of life, and human evolution. 3. Describe the function and processes of the major body systems including: cardiovascular, immune, digestive, urinary, muscular, skeletal, nervous, endocrine, and reproduction, as well as the coordination between systems in maintaining body homeostasis.
