For vocal students interested in learning International Phonetic Alphabet and the fundamentals of the proper pronunciation of French and German diction as it applies to singing. Students will learn via written and verbal assignments as well as singing in class. This course prepares successful completers for the proper performance of French and German vocal literature. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Apply the International Phonetic Alphabet and apply it to German and French diction. 2. Sing using proper German pronunciation. 3. Sing using proper French pronunciation. Prerequisite: MUSC 3861.
