Offers the opportunity to achieve added coding mastery. Will emphasize selected areas of specialty in medical coding (e.g. Diagnostic Radiology, Orthopedic Surgery, Hierarchical Condition Coding-HCC, Emergency Department, etc.) The specialty areas will be determined at the beginning of each course based upon market demand and industry need. Both theoretical and practical issues will be discussed. Students will work with authentic medical charts. Prerequisite/Restriction: BHIS 1010 and BHIS 1015 and BHIS 1020 and BHIS 1025 and BHIS 2010 and BHIS 2015 or instructor permission Corequisite: BHIS 2025
