Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1010 or ENGH 1005. Taught in English. Introduces Chinese Language and Culture to interested students and gives them an overview about the minor study program. Includes an introduction into the characteristics of Chinese script by memorizing a few everyday expressions in Chinese. Introduces Chinese history, economy, society, politics, culture and popular culture, and ethics including philosophy, religions, beliefs, film, literature, contemporary discourses.
