Explores how cinema and television reflect and are created by historical and contemporary cultural contexts. Includes the study of various approaches such as fan studies, spectatorship, stars, authorship, genre, long-form narrative and production. Includes lecture, film and media screenings, and critical discussions of assigned readings.
