Description:
Prerequisite(s): Instructor Approval. For students who have successfully completed Bronze, Silver and Gold International Ballroom Dance classes and for members of the Ballroom Tour Team. Prepares students to dance, choreograph and compete on a championship amateur level. Teaches the Advanced (Gold-Bar) level patterns of International style Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz. Emphasizes, on a pre-professional level, correct poise, style, and rhythm. Also teaches and enhances correct footwork, foot positions, alignments, rise and fall, partnering, floor craft, body flight, precedes and follows, and correct leading and following. First semester focuses on developing a general knowledge of Gold-Bar level curriculum. Second semester focuses on developing an in-depth knowledge of Gold-Bar level curriculum. May be repeated for a maximum of 8 credits toward graduation.. Course fee of $20 for practical experience applies.
