Prerequisite(s): ENGL 3420 and University Advanced Standing. Provides advanced instruction in practices and techniques for generating, writing, and revising original short fiction. Focuses on contemporary fiction and critical theories associated with contemporary fiction. Investigates various approaches to fiction writing through a series of readings, writing exercises, and revision assignments. Utilizes the creative writing workshop as the primary method of critical engagement with original fiction writing.
