Corequisite(s): ESFF 1010. Teaches basic manipulative skills according to NFPA 1001 Firefighter Professional Standards, Level 1. Includes using forcible entry tools, using self-contained breathing apparatus, tying knots and using ropes, handling salvage covers, utilizing hose nozzles and appliances, manipulating ladders, ventilation practices, search for and removal of victims, sprinkler operations, initiating emergency response, and safety procedures. Students are required to furnish their own approved firefighter safety clothing as follows: gloves, boots, helmet, and hood.. Course fee of $95 for specialized clothing and materials applies.
