Description:
Prerequisite(s): (INFO 2410 or CS 3520 with a grade of C- or higher within the past seven years) and University Advanced Standing. Covers advanced database development topics and introduces a data warehouse model designed especially to support analytics and reporting needs. Database development topics covered include transaction management, performance optimization, data loading, and the development of stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Presents the data warehouse model in contrast to existing operational transaction systems. Analyzes business reporting needs, creates models for data warehouses based on the reporting needs, and uses SQL to create and populate tables based on dimensional models.. Lab access fee of $45 for computers applies.
