An introduction to the chemical engineering profession and survey of the topics covered in the whole curriculum. Topics include units, mass and energy balances, fluid dynamics, mass transfer, kinetics and reactor design, heat transfer, process control and economics. Provides an introduction to the solution of problems using spreadsheets and programming. Students should be aware that concepts from college algebra will be applied in this course. Prerequisites: 'C' or better in MATH 1050 OR AP Calc AB score of 3+ OR AP Calc BC score of 3+ Corequisites: 'C' or better in CHEM 1210 OR CHEM 1211 OR AP CHEM score of 4+
