First course for students who have learned to speak but not write the language in a Chinese-speaking environment. Intensive study of writing system, grammar, and various writing styles. Students begin learning to comprehend simple written and spoken Shumianyu Chinese through authentic newspaper articles and video materials. Open for students with a year and a half or more experience in a Chinese-speaking country or area (heritage speakers, military service, LDS missions, etc.).
