This course is designed for freshmen first year modern dance majors to provide beginning technical training in classical ballet technique and introduce the student to ballet movement terminology. Students receive instruction in principles of alignment, placement and carriage in classical ballet. The course serves as the foundation for continued balled studies throughout the major's modern dance technique curriculum. Prerequisites: Full Major Status in Modern Dance OR Department Consent.
