Description:
Required course for the major/minor. This course is designed as a first course for students who learned Japanese while residing in Japan for at least one year. The aim is increased proficiency in reading and speaking at different levels of formality and with greater cultural nuance. Emphasis on reading, writing, and expansion of kanji knowledge. Total kanji knowledge of 600 characters by the end of the course. Students can receive 16 credit hours retroactively by passing this course with a grade of B- or higher.
