Description:
In this course you will be introduced to topics of basic marine navigation. you will develop an understanding of the Rules of the Road, piloting, maneuvering board fundamentals, practical chart work, and tides and currents. This class, for the most part, is a hands-on, practical class. It will be one of the more difficult yet rewarding classes you take during your undergraduate studies. Be prepared to invest a substantial amount of time in this class. The aforementioned objectives will be achieved with the overall goal of preparing you for service as a Naval Officer (Surface Warfare Officers, Submariners, Aviators alike).
