The MPA Internship is a required elective for all students who have less than one (1) year of professional experience in the public or nonprofit sector. Students must complete 300 internship hours. Students usually enroll for three (3) credit hours and finish in one (1) semester. If not, students must enroll for at least one (1) credit hour each semester until the internship is completed. Students seeking to waive this requirement must explain in writing how s/he developed the competencies normally developed in the internship experience and why the requirement should be waived.
