This is a reading, writing and discussion course, which addresses historical and contemporary issues of photographic art practices. Written projects and class discussions will focus on developing a critical understanding of the readings as they relate to the historical development and contemporary practice of photography as a fine art, to the influence photography has had on the history of art and to the broader cultural impact of photography and digital media.
