An introduction to the methods and types of research used in the study of family issues and processes. Focus of the course includes the development of student knowledge and skills used in applying the scientific method in family studies contexts. Understanding, reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting the methods and conclusions reported in the professional empirically based journals will also be emphasized.
