This course presents the concepts and nomenclature of traditional grammar as a context for students wishing to increase their control of punctuation, style, and usage in order to become more proficient writers. Its purpose is to offer practical guidance in how grammatical concepts can be applied to revising and editing one's own or others' writing to more effectively express one's intended meaning. The course is offered to all English majors and minors as a means of fulfilling the language requirement for the major, especially those in technical writing or creative writing. Students in communication, pre-law, and criminal justice may also find the class meets requirements.
