Prerequisite(s): MUSC 2400, MUSC 3120, and University Advanced Standing. Covers theoretical concepts of composing, arranging, production, and rough mixing in the recording/production studio in various styles and applications. Incorporates practical experience in a working professional studio. Provides in-depth access and exposure to professional-level sample libraries and sequencing techniques. Applies principles of orchestration, both traditional and contemporary, in the classroom and studio environment. Emphasizes communication skills with recording artists, musicians and engineers. Covers logistical protocols for scheduling, booking of studios and musicians, studio demeanor and ethics, and working with clients. May be repeated for a maximum of 12 credits towards graduation.. Software fee of $52 applies.. Lab access fee of $85 for computers applies.
