This course is an interrelated approach to the music and dances of the African Diaspora, which focuses on a deeper understanding of music and rhythm through dance and embodied movement. Students will be exposed to important elements of musical composition, rhythms and structure, as well as dances of this cultural lineage. Prerequisites: "C-" or better in DANC 1640 OR Department Consent.
