Lectures explore the theory necessary to be a successful rider. Students study the use of natural and artificial aids with hunt seat and western-style riding. In riding labs, students develop their riding skills and understanding of riding theory. Prerequisite/Restriction: Admission to the Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences major with an emphasis in Equine Science and Management OR admission into the Ranch Horse Management Program ADVS 1200 with a grade of C or better, or completion of the ADVS Riding Placement Assessment with a score of 80% or better
