Covers fundamental principles of stable management and horse health care, including facility up keep, ground manners, detecting and treating injuries and illness, management practices specific for individual facilities, horse herd health and upkeep, daily maintenance and duties required of a safe and healthy equine facility, show preparation, use of farm equipment and client relationships. Students are expected to be out at the Equine Education Center 6 hours per week. Prerequisite/Restriction: ADVS 2190 and ADVS 2200 or permission of instruction.
