Students learn the mathematics of wave motion, electromagnetic theory of light, light propagation, geometrical optics, and superposition of waves. Additional coursework is required for those enrolled in the graduate-level course. Prerequisite/Restriction: PHYS 2710, MATH 2210, MATH 2250 or MATH 2280; or ECE 3870 Cross-listed as: PHYS 4650 and ECE 6650/ECE 4650.
