Description:
For non-science majors. This course is designed for students whose major does not require the more mathematically intensive CHEM 1210 or CHEM 1220 courses. First of a two-semester sequence. Progression is made from the basic tenets of general chemistry through an introduction to organic chemistry, with topics being presented in order of practical importance and sophistication. Prerequisite/Restriction: MATH 1050 (prerequisite/corequisite) OR an Accuplacer score of 60 or better OR MATH ACT of 24 OR MATH SAT of 570 OR satisfactory completion (C or better) of the MATH 0995 as a prerequisite.
