Prerequisite(s): ENGL1010 recommended. Improves participant abilities to deal with a broad range of issues in the management of volunteers. Covers publicity and recruitment, skill development and maintenance, and motivation strategies to promote continued involvement and quality performance. Addresses the planning and operations of an effective donations management system, and explores the coordination of state and local government and representatives of Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) when working with undesignated and spontaneous volunteers during a disaster.
