DANC 3010 - Viewing Dance

Institution:
University of Utah
Subject:
Modern Dance
Description:
Meets with DANC 6315. This course aims to expand one's perspectives through viewing, writing about and discussing contemporary dance. Through this course, students broaden their knowledge about the work and artists that represent today's field of contemporary dance as it is happening in the US and around the world. Through writing and talking about dance, students become more articulate in their ability to discuss ideas and in their ability to be effective advocates for dance. Students will be asked to challenge their cultural and aesthetic perceptions and biases, to broaden their artistic dimensionality and to reflect on their role in self-sustaining creativity. We will also grow our artistic community through virtual and in-person conversations with artists from all over the world.
