Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into Dental Hygiene program. Corequisite(s): DENT 1015. For students accepted into the Dental Hygiene Program. Introduces basic principles and skills used in the practice of dental hygiene, including infection control, patient assessment and treatment. Requires practicing on dental mannequins and student patients. Teaches all skills to clinical comptence. Builds on basic and dental sciences and is foundational for the ensuing Dental Hygiene II, IIi, and IV courses.. Course fee of $3175 for practical experience applies.
