This course will explore the development of knowledge related to leadership theory, group dynamics, and face-to-face leadership techniques. Students will gain an understanding of leadership theories as they are applied in a field setting. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Identify models of leadership (roles, functions, styles) used within the recreation and sport industries. 2. Discuss leadership techniques to enhance individual, group, and community experiences. 3. Develop leadership skills related to group dynamics, motivation, and conflict resolution. 4. Demonstrate leadership skills emphasizing group processing and facilitation techniques.
