For students who want to be employed as mentors and peer coaches. This course fulfills the training requirement to work in Student Support Services as mentors and peer coaches. It also fulfills the requirements for CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) national mentor certification. The course gives a practical background for academic assistance and teaches student mentors and coaches how to empower other students with the skills and the confidence needed to succeed academically. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate ability to apply mentoring best practices. 2. Plan and create effective mentoring sessions. 3.
