Meets with CVEEN 6570. Presents the concepts of mechanistic pavement design for flexible and rigid pavements. It introduces the students to the analysis of stresses and deflections in multi-layered pavement systems. Evaluates existing pavement design methods including Mechanistic Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) and reviews factors that affect pavement performance. Prerequisites: "C-" or better in (CVEEN 3510 AND CVEEN 3515 AND CVEEN 3520) AND Full Major status in (Civil Engineering OR Construction Engineering).
