Description:
This studio course, required of all BFA majors in Graphic Design, is an intermediate level exploration of typographic design as a practical form of visual problem solving. Structures, grids, methods and technical skills related to typography as applied to professional graphic design practice will be addressed. This course will build and expand upon foundational typography, both formally and conceptually. By doing so, students gain valuable experience in the skillful manipulation of type for more advanced applications. Prerequisites: 'B-' or better in DESGR 1600 AND 'C+' or better in DESGR 2200 AND DESGR 2600. Corequisites: DESGR 2300.
