This course provides an overview of global history from 1945 up to the present day. We will examine major social, political, and economic changes since the end of the Second World War, focusing on three overarching themes: the Cold War, decolonization, and globalization. These phenomena are interrelated and so it will be important to consider the connections between them and analyze how they influenced one another.
