In this survey course students will learn about the history of Italian cinema and the role film has played in addressing Italy's changing social and cultural landscapes. The works studied range from the internationality acclaimed to the niche successes of both major and minor directors. Films are shown with English subtitles. Class discussion is conducted in English.
