This course provides an introduction to techniques of three-dimensional computer graphics, as well as fundamental concepts and philosophy of animation. The techniques include 3D modeling, digital lighting and shading, and basic animation. While Maya is the primary software to complete course assignments, this class features a combination of studio activities, critiques, readings, writings, and discussions related to animation and digital media. Prerequisites: 'B-' or better in FILM 1610.
