Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding in functional implications and educational considerations of many major eye diseases and disorders; the different eye care professionals and their role in vision care; the purposes/integral facets of a functional vision assessment and a learning media assessment; the factors and issues in deciding between the use of large print vs. regular print books and materials, as well as other media; the basic laws of optics and other components/resources specific to students with low vision.
