Shear and bending moment in beams, torsion of circular and non-circular sections, bending and shear stresses in beams, deflection of beams, statically indeterminate members and structures. Failure criteria, stress concentrations, column buckling. Prerequisites: 'C' or better in (ME EN 1300 OR ME EN 2010 OR CVEEN 2010) AND (MATH 2250 OR (MATH 2270 AND MATH 2280)) AND Full Major in ME EN. Corequisites: 'C' or better in ME EN 3315 AND (MSE 2010 OR MSE 2160) AND (MATH 1260 OR 1321 OR 2210 OR 3140).
