Description:
Application of engineering technology fundamentals to machine design and maintenance. Techniques used to design and select individual machine parts will be introduced. This course prepares the student to analyze, design and maintain machines by incorporating components such as shafts, bearings, springs, gears, clutches, breaks, chains, belts, and bolted and welded joints. Students will also be able to solve open-ended machine design and maintenance problems using those components and technical communication. It is recommended students complete STEM 1010 or equivalent placement prior to taking this course. Semester: Spring
