Description:
This course is specifically for students accepted to the artsFUSION Scholars program. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to a community-based educational approach that connects the arts, education, and social learning. Course participants will work together to create, promote, and teach multiple monthly arts events for children and families in local venues including the Southern Utah Museum of Art and the Cedar City Library. They will also observe arts teaching in local elementary school classes and reflect on similarities and differences between school and community approaches to arts education.
