An advanced study of bioenergetics and exercise metabolism. Emphasis on the role and regulation of metabolic pathways during exercise, fuel utilization during exercise, lactate production and utilization, and training-induced metabolic adaptations. A laboratory component provides independent investigation and data collection using indirect calorimetry for measuring human energy expenditure.
