Description:
This course teaches the basics of securing and defending computer networks, including network traffic monitoring, alerting, and analysis. Students learn principles of layered defense with firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, and server configuration and monitoring. Prerequisites/Restrictions: One of the following: Approved Utah Technical College 900+ hour certificate Multiple approved Certificates of Proficiency leading to a cohesive technical program Approved Certificates of Completion 30 previous technical credits as approved by the advisor or significant progress towards completion of a 30 technical elective plan Related experience approved by the instructor or department head
