This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the psychology of sport, injury, and rehabilitation. Topics covered include: emotion, motivation, psychosocial skills training and application, psychological antecedents of injury, psychology of injury and rehabilitation including individual response and effect on self-identity and physical function, and outcomes topics related to rehabilitation and exercise adherence, eating disorders, alcohol and drug/substance abuse, cultural competence, and research methods within the area of sport, injury, and rehabilitation psychology.
