Media Design 1 is an introduction to the equipment and techniques used in the creation of video and projection designs in the theatre. The class introduces students to the hardware and software used in media design as well as many of the techniques often used in the creation of media content, from simple images to complex three-dimensional rendering. A number of playback platforms are used to cover cueing, 3D mapping, edge blending, and other visual manipulations of media content.
