Description:
Prerequisite(s): EDUC 5780, EDUC 5782, EDUC 5783, EDUC 5784. Develops a conceptual understanding that natural systems are usually stable until changes occur from either natural or human caused (anthropogenic) events over time and/or scale. Demonstrates that stability and change are interconnected and one cannot be explained without the other. Teaches participants to construct explanations of how changes occur as natural systems interact. Teaches students to present arguments supported by evidence that change in systems occurs in differing temporal scales, spatial scales, and scales of magnitude.
