Students learn applications of adhesion in adhesives, structural adhesives, and composite materials. Topics include surface science, mechanisms of adhesion, surface treatments for bonding, adhesive materials, adhesive solidification, processing of adhesives, mechanical behavior of bonded joints, fracture mechanics of bonded joints. Prerequisite(s): MAE 2160 and MAE 2140 Restriction(s): Admission to the Professional Engineering program.
