Robotic hardware design and control principles. Topics include selection and design of sensors, motor and actuator types and control, computer vision for navigation and tasks and hardware interfaces to sensors. Use of the Robot Operating System to interface and fuse data from various sensors such as LIDAR, Inertial measurement units, compass and physical and visual odometry for navigation and control. Use of the Gazebo simulation environment to validate designs before implementation.
