Examines the meaning of marriage and the family, variations in American family life, gender and family, intimacy, friendship, love, communication, power, and conflict, singlehood and cohabitation, parenthood, marriage and work, intimate violence, separation and divorce, single-parent families, remarriages, and blended families.
