This course prepares the students to perform the role of an advanced practice nurse with the essential competencies and skills necessary to provide health promotion activities to individuals and populations. This course will prepare students to incorporate individual characteristics, population factors, and social determinants of health (SDOH) into health promotion activities to improve individual and population health outcomes, reduce health disparities, and improve health equity. This course incorporates the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Lifestyle Medicine 101 curriculum along with population focused health promotion and disease prevention programs from state, federal, and non-profit organizations. (Fall, Spring, Summer) [Graded (Standard Letter)] Prerequisite(s): NURS 6110 Registration Restriction(s): MSN FNP students only
