    A study of animal development including an introduction to the mechanisms of cell division and differentiation, embryonic patterning, organ development, and errors in developmental regulation. The course will focus on genetic control of the developmental process with a focus on signal transduction pathways and gene regulation. Experimental methods, readings from the primary literature, and model systems, including C. elegans, Xenopus, zebrafish, chicken, and pig, will be emphasized throughout.
