    This alignment based Hatha yoga class is a continuation of Yoga 1057/057. Students will expand their yoga practice through foundations of alignment, breath work, primary poses, sequences, and variations. We will learn additional meditation techniques and dig deeper in yoga philosophy. We will be studying all eight limbs of yoga with a focus on the first two limbs, the Yamas and the Niyamas. Although the main style of the class is Hatha, we will also study Vinyasa flow, restorative and yoga nidra. Upon completion of this course you will receive a CR (2.0 credits). If you have failed to fulfill the course's requirements you will receive a NC (non-credit). All ESSF classes are for credit or no credit. Students will not be receiving a letter grade.

    AntiGravityr Fitness is the original aerial yoga and suspension fitness technique created by Christopher Harrison. AntiGravity techniques allow one to stretch further and hold challenging postures longer by utilizing the Harrison AntiGravityr Hammock, a soft trapeze like fabric that holds up to 1000 pounds. While practicing traditional yoga poses midair, this suspension fitness technique increases flexibility, agility, and coordination and builds core strength while having fun. This airborne workout is a fusion of yoga, aerial, pilates, calisthenics and dance. Not enrolled in a high school program.

    This class includes a series of stretches to help with flexibility, range of motion, balance, and posture. Also includes various body weight and light weight exercises to increase over all strength. Not enrolled in a high school program.

    This course is designed to introduce the benefits of circuit training. The course includes a combination of various weight training stations as well as cardiovascular stations designed to improve muscular strength, muscular endurance, and cardiovascular fitness.     Introduces technical skills and principles of weight training, instruction on proper safety guidelines, training principles, lifting techniques, and program design so the student can effectively participate in and experience the benefits from a resistive training program.     Develops and/or improves upon weight training skills learned at the beginning level. Many of the skills and concepts stressed in Elementary Weight Training will be expanded. Basic anatomy and kinesiology of weight lifting and strategies for strength, size, and/or endurance gains will be covered. Not enrolled in a high school program.

    Designed to advance the student's technical knowledge of weight training theory and practice with an emphasis on program design, Olympic lifts, plyometrics and other advanced weight training techniques. Not enrolled in a high school program.

    Throughout this course, students will learn basic concepts of development and maintenance of physical activity and will be exposed to the different fitness opportunities offered locally while engaging in health-promoting and wellness activities. This course is designed to allow students to participate in physical activity of their choice at a time and location that best fits their schedule, and is electronically recorded and synced to your instructor using a fitness tracking device.
