Lecture/Discussions on plays seen in performance in London and Stratford-upon-Avon as performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, and others. Introduces students to the life and works of William Shakespeare through a combination of lecture-discussions, play attendance, master classes with actors and artistic staffs of major theatre companies, reflective journals, and field trips to Shakespearean sites.

    Building on foundation skills learned in Private Voice I, this course is an individual study of applied voice, vocal literature, musical styles and performance focusing on techniques for musical theatre singing. Weekly private lessons nurture the development of musical theatre students and are a vital part of the course of study. Monthly mastery classes provide solo performance opportunities in a group forum. A minimum of five clock hours per week of practice outside of private instruction is required. This course may be repeated up to four times. Prerequisites: 'C' or better in THEA 2011 OR Instructor Consent

Students will be immersed in London's extensive Spring production season which includes outstanding productions from all major periods of theatre history. This course also introduces students to the work of great playwrights and worldwide currents of artistic thought. This course focuses on new, cutting-edge drama or The English Stage. Coursework will include lecture-discussions, play attendance, master classes with actors and artistic staffs of leading international companies, reflective journals, and field trips.

    This class helps to bridge the gap between the University and the professional world. Students look at the practical demands of being a professional actor, including auditioning for regional theaters and casting directors, the pros and cons of Union affiliation, and how to find an agent. The class features guest speakers from current PTC productions including actors, playwrights, and directors who will share practical advice and anecdotal tips on best professional practices. Prerequisites: Instructor Consent.

    This is a laboratory course in basic computer drafting techniques and designing for the theatre, using Vectorworks and Photoshop software. The aim will be to acquaint the students with techniques used to create two-dimensional designs and technical drawings for theatre applications. Prerequisites: "C" or better in (THEA 1550 OR THEA 1551) OR Instructor Consent.
